J. SPENCER GREENE is one of the founding members of Viking Drama and is the founder and Executive/Artistic Director of Theatre Nebula. He has directed and designed many Theatre Nebula productions, including, Pippin (Illinois Theatre Association’s Excellence in Theatre Award,) Voices through the Storm (playwright, director, and designer, American Association of Community Theatres award for Best Lighting Design,) and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Jeff co-directed CNGM’s short film Shot Out of Love, and produced, directed, and designed the feature film, Off-Loop. He was a founding company member of the nationally acclaimed Famous Door Theatre in Chicago, where he directed, produced, and designed Hellcab, which ran for 10 years, and also produced over a dozen shows, including the long-running and award-winning hits Early & Often, GHETTO (Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Production,) Beautiful Thing, (moved to Off-Broadway in New York,) and The Living (Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Production.) A graduate of Illinois State University Theatre, Jeff has directed and designed over 100 plays in his career. He was the casting director for the feature film 5-25-77, produced by Fred Roos (Apocalypse Now, Lost in Translation), and Gary Kurtz (American Graffiti, Star Wars) winning the Heineken Red Star Award at the Hamptons Film Festival. Jeff also did the U.S. casting for the award-winning foreign feature film Khuda Kay Liye (In The Name Of God.)
