Sarah Ryndak is the Administrative Director for the Collaborative Arts Program at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Viking Drama is absolutely the reason Sarah works in the arts today. She joined the Viking Drama Club in the 7th grade, which is where her love of stage management was born, as she stage managed almost every production in her 7th and 8th grade years. She spent her high school and undergraduate studies focused on stage management, and after graduating from Boston College with a degree in Theatre, she worked in the Education Department at New York City’s Manhattan Theatre Club. Sarah continues to work in arts education, hoping to share with others collaborative, loving, and self-esteem building programming like she received at Viking Drama, under Jim Neal’s leadership. After pursuing her M.A. in Higher Education and Student Affairs at NYU, today, she utilizes the skills she learned at Viking Drama to support the training of interdisciplinary artists of the future. She even still finds herself saying to her staff “many hands make light work.”
